MANOA VALLEY

There is a decided neighborhood feel in Manoa as it is often completely overlooked by tourists. The central Manoa Marketplace is host specialty shops and the intimate and popular Manoa Valley Theatre. There are weekly farmers' markets set up here as well where locals can buy fresh produce, crafts and maybe even a few locally cultivated orchids.

Manoa is home to the University of Hawaii and the UH Warriors.It is here you can catch a practice or two of our local champs at the campus field.

If hiking and mountain beauty is your thing, the Lyon Arboretum and Manoa Falls have much to offer. Manoa Falls is a spectacular site as it tumbles down a near vertical cliff forapproximately 150-feet into a small pool. The 1 ½ mile hike to the falls is classified as "easy" and travels through a bamboo forest, rainforest, and base of the Ko'olaus Mountains. For those seeking the beauty of Hawaii's natural environment, the Lyon Arboretum serves as a pleasant setting where exotic and introduced plants, trees, flowers and orchids blend harmoniously with the native vegetation once found in ancient Manoa Valley.
